Erin has been dancing for 14 years and it is safe to say her initial love for the art form has not changed since she stepped into her first pair of Jiffies! Throughout her childhood Erin trained in many different styles of dance, and is now mostly partial to the styles of ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary and anything musical theatre related. Oh, and a bit of cabaret is always fun too!
In 2009, Erin gained a Bachelor of Creative Industries (Dance) from the Queensland University of Technology. During her time at QUT, Erin majored in ballet and contemporary dance. In her final year of the degree, amongst participating in small dance projects around Brisbane, Erin choreographed a dance piece for the New Moves season, which was a showcase of the works by QUT’s emerging dancers. Her work ‘Afterglow’ was an exploration of the relationship between dreams and reality, and how we use dreams and our personal sanctuaries of escape to find an inner peace and healing.
Erin is currently working as a dancer in Tether, the upcoming dance work supported by the JH Project. She is also participating in a course to become a certified BASI Pilates Instructor and hopes to use her knowledge and experience of Pilates to enhance her dancing.
Erin is also passionate about musical theatre, and is beginning to pursue her goal of becoming a performer in that industry. Watch out Broadway!
Erin is one of the talented dancers in Tether.
